Program details
Our Mandarin Explorer program helps children build a strong foundation in Mandarin through speaking, listening, reading, writing and cultural discovery.
Children begin with basic pinyin and tones, then learn the fundamental strokes, correct stroke order and structure of Chinese characters. Step by step, they develop character recognition, reading and handwriting skills while practising useful vocabulary and everyday conversations.
The program also introduces children to Chinese culture through stories, traditional literature and age-appropriate readings from works such as The Analects (Lunyu) and Di Zi Gui. These cultural connections help children understand the language more deeply while exploring values, traditions and Chinese ways of thinking.
Through engaging small-group learning, children grow in confidence and develop practical Mandarin skills that they can use and continue building upon.
